Application Recommendations
1. Surface Preparation
Proper concrete surface preparation is essential for achieving a durable, professional epoxy flooring installation.
Concrete must be structurally sound, clean, and free from dust, oils, grease, moisture conditions outside manufacturer limits, and contaminants that could interfere with adhesion.
Mechanically prepare the concrete using appropriate diamond grinding or shot blasting equipment to achieve the concrete surface profile (CSP) specified for the flooring system.
Repair cracks, joints, and surface imperfections before applying the coating system.
2. Priming & Base Coat
For metallic epoxy installations, apply the appropriate primer and pigmented base coat according to the manufacturer’s system recommendations.
A properly installed base coat helps create a consistent background for metallic designs and reduces the risk of unwanted substrate imperfections showing through the finished floor.
Allow the base coat to reach the appropriate recoat condition before proceeding.
3. Mixing
LABPOX LV UV uses a 2:1 mixing ratio (Part A to Part B).
Measure and combine both components according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
Mix thoroughly using a low-speed mechanical mixer until a uniform consistency is achieved.
For metallic epoxy applications, incorporate compatible metallic pigments according to the manufacturer’s recommended loading rates.
4. Metallic Epoxy Application
Pour the mixed material onto the prepared surface and distribute evenly using an appropriate squeegee or application tool.
Allow the ultra-low-viscosity formulation to flow and level while creating the desired metallic design.
Contractors can manipulate compatible metallic pigments using approved decorative application techniques to create movement, depth, and unique visual effects.
Maintain consistent material thickness and work within the manufacturer’s specified application window.
5. Curing & Protective Topcoat
Allow LABPOX LV UV to cure according to the manufacturer’s technical data sheet.
Actual curing times depend on temperature, humidity, application thickness, and substrate conditions.
For applications requiring additional abrasion resistance, chemical resistance, or a specific sheen, consider a compatible polyurethane or other approved protective topcoat.
Always verify intercoat adhesion requirements and recoat windows before applying additional coatings.

Important: Although LABPOX LV UV is formulated for decorative clear and metallic epoxy applications, epoxy coatings can still experience discoloration or ambering from UV exposure. The product name alone does not establish that it is UV-stable or non-yellowing. Always verify the manufacturer’s UV-resistance specifications and use an appropriate protective topcoat when required. Review the current Technical Data Sheet (TDS) and Safety Data Sheet (SDS) before application.
